I have no plans this weekend. No. Plans. And I couldn't be happier. After a busy summer, and quite fun I should add, I am looking forward to spending the long weekend in NYC. Getting this done around the apartment, spending time outside, and perhaps knocking a few more things off my LIST. What will you be up to this weekend?

Not only did one of the greatest Ad Men excel at writing copy for some of the most iconic advertising campaigns, but he was also an encouraging force for those who worked below him. In a memo drafted by David Ogilvy for the management to circulate as they saw fit, circa September 17, 1982, he gives 10 tips on how to write better. Although penned many years ago, this memo is still pretty relevant today.

How did you feel about the Emmy's last night? Seth Meyers was an okay host - he started off great and then fizzled and burned in my opinion. The speeches were just "eh." But the gowns were all phenomenal.

The Look...For Less: 3.1 Philip Lim 31 Hour Bag

Any bag by 3.1 PHILIP LIM is an absolute dream and the 31 HOUR BAG is no exception. Oh the things I could pack in here...It would end up weighing the equivalent of a small child. Anyways, you can get a slightly similar look, and I say slightly because the bag by POVERTY FLATS looks similar in color but the size is VERY different. It's actually a small crossbody bag, shocker, and you can probably only fit your phone in it and 1-2 other things. Might be a stretch for a "look for less" but gotta save somewhere.

Enter UPLIFT STUDIOS with their Uplift Triathlon. Now, I've been to Uplift before so I sort of knew what I was in for but I didn't realize what a challenge 3 classes in 1 would really be. And what a challenge it was.

You may remember from THIS POST that pieces from RESTORATION HARDWARE are what I dream of one day filling my house with. One of my favorite pieces after my most recent visit was this chair. It's perfect. I love it so much I told my boyfriend I would sell my soul for it. It may be just a tad to big for the area I have designated for it in my living room, but it would be such a nice piece to own (and lounge on or curl up on with a nice book or just admire the soft texture of the leather). That's why it's today's Monday Must Have. It's even on sale at RESTORATION HARDWARE.

After coming back from a fantastic trip to NORTH CAROLINA, this weekend started on a low note. Sad news in the public sphere was followed by even more sad news from friends. It's times like this that remind you just how precious life is and that you should never truly take anything for granted, or anyone for that matter. Not the most upbeat Friday note, but here's to hoping next week starts off a little more positive.

Scenes from North Carolina

To put it bluntly, after coming back from an awesome weekend in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina, going back to work sucked. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great, but when you're visiting one of your best friends, weather plays a minor part in setting the tone for the weekend. Time spent with good friends always guarantees A LOT of laughs, a ton of eating and drinking, and zero sleep. This combination, and perhaps the slower pace of life and just how nice people are (and pretty much every other trait that New Yorkers lack), leaves me contemplating a move every time I come back. Maybe one day it will happen? Until then, I'll settle for visiting every few months.

The Look...For Less: Helmut Lang Draped Skirt

When I saw the HELMUT LANG version of the skirt it instantly appealed to me. The draping and the fact that it is sexy in a subtle way make it a perfect piece to own for summer. But the price really didn't do it for me since there isn't much to it. SO, when I saw the ZARA version my mouth dropped. It's literally the same piece, no? Personally, I love how it's styled with a simple white t-shirt, but how would you wear this?

I'm back on vacation, yes again. But this trip involved flying to see one of my best friends in North Carolina. Restoration Hardware Greenwich, CT

RESTORATION HARDWARE recently moved locations on Greenwich Avenue and took over the old Post Office, and my what a transformation. I was a fan of the store before, but the new space left me speechless. The interiors are all gorgeous and left me feeling inspired to one day mimic this decor in my own home. Until then, I'll refer to these pictures and dream of my house with high ceilings, wood accents, and sinkable leather couches.
